Former Ambassador Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi

Ambassador Jasem Albudaiwi became Ambassador of Kuwait to the United States in August 2022.

Ambassador Albudaiwi joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Diplomatic Attache in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1992. His Excellency was previously posted at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to the United States of America in June 2001, where he was promoted from Second Secretary to First Secretary in 2004, Counselor in 2007, and eventually Deputy Chief of Mission in October 2011.

Ambassador Albudaiwi has also been Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Korea (2013-2016), and Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Belgium, and Head of Mission of the State of Kuwait to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (2016-2022).

Ambassador Albudaiwi earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Utah in 1991, and received a Diploma in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford in 1993.

His Excellency is married with three children.
