Kuwait FM attends talks with GCC, US counterparts in New York

NEW YORK, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Foreign Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Dr Ahmad Naser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah attended ministerial talks with Gulf Cooperation Council states and the US on Thursday.

The meeting, held on the United Nations General Assembly's 76th session's fringes in New York, discussed furthering historic ties binding the six-nation bloc and the US in a way that reflects the level of their strategic partnership, a Kuwaiti statement read.

The two sides also discussed means to develop close cooperation on the political, security and economic spectrums in the aim of consolidating security and stability and to achieve the aspired progress and prosperity in the region. (end)
